Event Details

The performance ‘ Belt and Road: By Beihai We Are Bound’ will be held at the Guildhall, Cambridge on the evening of 6 September.

The opening ceremony of the ‘Belt and Road: By Beihai We Are Bound’ activities (the United Kingdom stop) is scheduled to be held at Cambridge at 6:00 PM on 6 September 2019, when there will be a show of a segment of the grand historical drama Maritime Silk Road.  The show will be presented in the form of songs and dances.

Beihai is a prefecture-level city in the south of Guangxi, China. Its status as a seaport on the north shore of the Gulf of Tonkin has granted it historical importance as a port of international trade for Guangxi, Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan, Guizhou, and Yunnan. Between the years 2006 and 2020, Beihai is predicted to be the world’s fastest growing city. Beihai has a large shipyard, but most of the money generated in the city is derived from trade.

The event is free and open to the public, but RSVP is required and seats will be allocated on a “first come, first served” basis.
