To celebrate the 41st anniversary of China’s Reform and Opening-up, supported by the Chinese Embassy in the UK, Cambridge China Forum 2019 will put on a special Photo Exhibition themed “Reform and Dreams” on the 15-16 Oct at the Wellcome Genome Campus Conference Centre.
Last December marked the 40th anniversary of China’s Reform and Opening-up policy, which was launched under the leadership of Deng Xiaoping at the 1978 Third Plenum. This policy jump-started China’s transformation from an underdeveloped centrally-planned economy into an economic powerhouse, increasingly driven by the market.
Among the exhibits, most images depict changes in the daily life in China since 1978 while others showcases the close relationship between China and the United Kingdom over what has proven to be an extraordinary time of change to China’s development.
