Returning for a second year, Cambridge China Forum is the only conference focussed on enhancing relationships and increasing investment and trade between China and the Cambridge Science & Technology Cluster. Building on the success of last year’s Forum, the team at Cambridge China Centre are pleased to announce an expanded two-day agenda for ‘Cambridge China Forum 2019: UK|China Investment and Trade’ taking place on 15th – 16th October 2019 at the Wellcome Genome Campus Conference Centre.
Designed as an intimate exclusive event, the Cambridge China Forum 2019 will provide valuable content and opportunities to interact and network with expert UK|China professionals. Industry-leading speakers will be discussing the potential of UK|China collaboration, explore international trade and investment challenges and opportunities, and emerging perspectives on AI and Bio-tech industry trends. Attendees can expect an equal ratio of speakers from Chinese and UK backgrounds and an expanded agenda allowing for more business opportunities.
Jinzhao Li, co-Founder and Managing Director of Cambridge China Centre, explained the rationale behind the theme for this year’s event, “In the months since the inaugural Cambridge China Forum, we’ve been busy helping businesses improve international trade, develop joint ventures and attract inward investment from China. Investments in the UK from China more than doubled between 2016 and 2017 and there have since been consistent opportunities for businesses. We couldn’t ignore the high levels of interest for connecting emerging businesses and tech-companies with China-based investors. In response, we decided to focus the 2019 Forum on investment and trade in addition to adding a second day for a business Pitch Event.”
The two-day agenda has been designed to appeal to UK|China based businesses, investors and technology companies, with a focus on networking and building relationships. Day one of the Cambridge China Forum 2019 will include keynotes, plenaries and discussions for business and technology interests. Sessions will focus on opportunities between China and the Cambridge AI and bio-tech clusters, IP and Regulations in China, and Impact Investment. At the Pitch Event on day two, company representatives will have an opportunity to pitch and gain feedback from an impressive panel of investors and specialists in Chinese trade. Audience tickets will also be available to attend this Pitch Event.
